- What changed
- Plant Pioneers Meat Free Steaks (227 g): a Sainsbury's customer service agent told a shopper on X the item was 'no longer ranged in any of our stores', and its product page showed 'page cannot be found' (The Sun, 15 Mar 2025; Birmingham Live, 16 Mar 2025). Trolley.co.uk lists it as out of stock in every store, and we found no report of it returning. A search-engine snapshot of an old Sainsbury's product page still exists, but the live page returned 404 when we fetched it on 2026-10-18.

THIS Fillet Steak (plant-based) by THIS
Vegan Food & Living's April 2026 review: realistic fibrous texture, 31 g protein per fillet, strong peppercorn flavor; about GBP 7 for two. Grocery Gazette reports a 2026 launch into Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Waitrose.

Vivera Plant Steaks by Vivera
Cheaper pre-cooked soya-and-wheat-protein steaks (a 2024 Taylor Talks Vegan review paid GBP 2.50 for two and rated them 8/10 for flavor); they are dense and more burger-like than a fibrous steak.
